My Surprising Encounter with Darryl Strawberry at a Wedding

As a wedding filmmaker, I've encountered my fair share of unexpected moments, but none quite like the day I met former New York Mets pitcher Darryl Strawberry at a wedding.

It was a perfect fall day in 2018, and I was busy capturing cinematic moments for my clients, Kelly and Kyle. Everything was running smoothly until an approaching car abruptly blocked my shot. Irritated, I approached the vehicle and discovered Darryl Strawberry behind the wheel.

Unaware of his identity, I impatiently asked him to move the car. Frustration took over, and I let out an impromptu boo, utterly unaware of who he was. Darryl Strawberry chuckled and quipped, "I've been booed a lot in my life!" He graciously posed for photos with the couple to make amends, creating unforgettable moments for their wedding film and photos.

Collaborating with my friend Gina from Anne Atelier Photography made this unexpected encounter even more delightful. We were both amazed by the turn of events and shared some hearty laughter.

Little did I know that an Instagram video I posted of Darryl Strawberry's surprise appearance would go viral. Inside Edition reached out for an interview, transforming this unique experience into a heartwarming story.

This encounter served as a reminder that life is brimming with surprises, and even a spontaneous boo can lead to a great story. However, I couldn't help but wish that it also brought the Mets a playoff win.
